Bank holiday weekend getaway

A nice early start saw the five of us, myself, Ryan, dougie, Jamie and zaf making our way to north wales. After a brief stop at a roadside greasy spoon debating the cardiac attack breakie and non of us taking the challenge on it was bk on the rd where in Bala while sorting the shuttle out we was met by Jason and Jordan where we then headed up to the chipper. After several runs of pre graveyard we was joined by Chuckie Ali and bill, where we carried on and worked our way down the river, getting hints and tips along the way ( cheers all ). All of us improving our skills and hitting the runs more confidently, learning new routes ( cheers Chuckie for chapel ), before finishing the day off bk at the cars where we wished a safe journey to Jason, Jordan, bill, Ali and Chuckie.

Next it was off to the swallow falls for our nights place of rest, with a great evening in the restaurant, followed by a few beers and lots of great banter between us all.

Following a nice breakie it was time for the dee, after a walk to town falls and lots of looking and convos about routes we headed to horseshoe weir, where after sorting shuttle we headed down the serpants tail. It was hear that we were given a safety brief followed by more discussions about the route, it was then decided the demo of the route should be taken by our leader to show us how it was done, Not only did zaf show us the route he even demoed it backwards and if that wasn't posing enough he even finished it with a role into the eddy, top move great role.
Dougie followed looking really gd in the playboat. I then followed with lots of swearing as I ran it followed by dougie and Ryan then Jamie ran it looking really confident as he went, I was lucky enough to have a second go and relaxed this time what a grt run nice line and really enjoyable even hitting the eddy I wanted , we then worked our way down to mile end mill where yet more fun was to be had in the holes there to use any energy we still had.

Great weekend, great company , great banter, great paddle. Would like to thank all that I paddled with and all that gave me any help and advice on my way, once again many thxs to all was a pleasure to paddle with you all, and thanks to zaf for taking lead and organising the accom along with taking the lead for the couple of days.
Looking forward to the next one. Cheers Phil
