About Us

Wyre Forest Canoe Club (WFCC)

Wyre Forest Canoe Club is a long established and dynamic canoe & kayaking club adjacent to the river Severn in Bewdley, Worcestershire.
The primary aim of WFCC is to promote recreational canoeing and kayaking while providing maximum enjoyment in a safety aware environment.

WFCC aims to provide relaxed and informal sessions for those wishing to try the sport for the first time. Sessions are held on the river Severn on Friday evenings throughout the Summer months and Pool Sessions right through the year on Sunday evenings. We also engage professional external coaches to provide for specialised training such as First Aid and Safety & Rescue and personal skills.

WFCC maintains an extensive and modern range of equipment for members use. This includes safety gear, paddles, canoes and kayaks of various types and sizes including small kayaks suitable for youngsters.  We have been very active over the last 2 years in updating our boat fleet in order to keep various sizes of modern Creek, River running and Play boats.   We cater for all ages and abilities.

In addition to the Friday evening sessions we organise outings to a variety of UK rivers and coastal locations (see facebook page). These can range from flat water up to grade 4 rivers and surf. We also enjoy an amazing social scene with "alternative" events such as Beer & Skittles, karting and climbing, we also have a pretty active cycling contingent and regularly ride in the nearby Wyre Forest.

WFCC has charity status (no 1111262) and is registered with the Charity Commission.
We are a British Canoeing Affiliated Club - Affiliation No. 1098
